About Therapy For Success
Our mission at Therapy for Success is to support, treat, and serve individuals suffering from eating disorders, disordered eating, and weight issues. We have a tenacious passion for helping those in need. Our counseling is based primarily on a cognitive-behavioral model to both treat and support individuals in their unique recovery process. Our team is highly educated, experienced, and successful in working with these difficult diseases.
Our Admin Team
MA ATR-BC, LPC
Laura York is a board certified and nationally registered Art Therapist, as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She got started practicing Art Therapy in Philadelphia with women, children, and families with substance abuse issues. Through this, she became well-versed in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, therapies used to re-frame thought and behavioral patterns that just aren’t working. Laura also specializes in food, eating, and weight concerns, as well as trauma, anxiety, depression, and communication between families and couples. Along with this, Laura is trained in Mindfulness practice and often incorporates this into the therapeutic process. Laura believes in the healing power of laughter, and will incorporate this into session whenever possible. She also provides ATR-BC and LPC group and individual supervision.
Estelle Covely is the Office Administrator for Therapy For Success.
She has been employed with Therapy for Success since 2015 and is an indispensable part of our
Estelle has over 20 years’ experience in the healthcare field working with sole practitioners, group
practices, and hospitals, including The University of Pennsylvania, Cooper Health System, and The
University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
Her expertise covers the entire revenue cycle workflow. Estelle’s primary focus has been in the mental,
and behavioral health field.
Her positive personality and empathy towards others are key component to our practice.
Practice Owner - MS, LPC
Lisa Simon is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She is also a member of the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA), the Association for Size Diversity and Health (ASDAH), and the International Association of Eating Disorders Professional Foundation (IADEP). She received her undergraduate and master’s degree’s from the University of Miami.
Lisa is the owner and creator of Therapy For Success, a private niche practice specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and food and weight related disorders.She used her passion of helping other people to create Therapy For Success to help those struggling from these diseases. She works with men and women of all ages, helping them to overcome their afflictions with food. She has counseled individuals in the most intense hospital inpatient settings and in outpatient settings and helped them accomplish independent lifestyles in the community. She is constantly studying and training in order to provide therapy for success and healing. Her caring approach and commitment to help people overcome difficult life issues is unique. Lisa has an insurmountable knack and spirit, and brings creativity and energy combined with a wealth of professional and personal experience to each of her clients.
Kidian Martinez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Pennsylvania, and Delaware, with a pending license in New Jersey. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Society of Adolescent Health Medicine. Kidian received her undergraduate degree from the University of West Chester and her master’s degree from Widener University.
As a Program Director for the Nemours/Dupont Hospital for Children’s Eating Disorder Evaluation and Management Program, she has developed and implemented inpatient and outpatient protocols and processes for treating children and adolescents. Kidian has extensive experience working with people of all ages struggling with eating disorders, educating hospitals and professionals, applying for grants to fund innovative approaches, advocating for enlightened public policies, and publishing and lecturing extensively. She utilizes self-empowerment through teaching healthy coping and behavior skills and family and cognitive-based behavior therapy.
Amanda Pettinelli is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She received her undergraduate degree from Baylor University and a Master of Science from Thomas Jefferson University. She is certified in Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Ecosystemic Structure Family Therapy.
Amanda has extensive experience training and experience at The Renfrew Centers, major inpatient-outpatient eating disorder facilities, and other health services, where she provided individual, couples, and family therapeutic therapy and clinical and intern supervision. She has led multi-family groups, parent support sessions, and patient alumnae events, provided crisis management, and developed and implemented treatment plans in coordination with patients’ complete health team, including dieticians, psychiatrists, PCPS, students’ schools, and workers’ employers. Amanda is a member of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professional Foundation (IADEP)
Crystal Carson is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor of Science from Temple University. She earned her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Holy Family University. Crystal is also a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC).
Crystal utilizes a variety of treatment approaches, including Person-Centered, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and Mindfulness, to address and to heal her clients’ stressful and traumatic experiences. She is well experienced in promoting healthy relationships and engaging people creatively through flexible individually tailored treatment protocols.
She works passionately to treat adolescents, young adults, adults, and families to treat eating and weight disorders.
