About Us

Our mission at Therapy for Success is to support, treat, and serve individuals suffering from eating disorders and disordered eating, We have a tenacious passion for helping those in need.  Our counseling is based primarily on a cognitive-behavioral model to both treat and support individuals in their unique recovery process. Our team is highly educated, experienced, and successful in working with these difficult diseases.

Lisa Simon

Practice Owner - MS, LPC

Lisa Simon is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She is also a member of the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA), the Association for Size Diversity and Health (ASDAH), and the International Association of Eating Disorders Professional Foundation (IADEP). She received her undergraduate and master’s degree’s from the University of Miami.

Lisa is the owner and creator of Therapy For Success, a private niche practice specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder,  Emotional Eating, Disordered Eating, and Exercise Addiction. Lisa​ used her passion of helping other people to create Therapy For Success to help those struggling from these diseases. She works with men and women of all ages, helping them to overcome their afflictions with food. She has counseled individuals in the most intense hospital inpatient settings and in outpatient settings and helped them accomplish independent lifestyles in the community. She is constantly studying and training in order to provide therapy for success and healing. Her caring approach and commitment to help people overcome difficult life issues is unique. Lisa has an insurmountable knack and spirit, and brings creativity and energy combined with a wealth of professional and personal experience to each of her clients.

Amanda Pettinelli

MS, LMFT

Amanda Pettinelli is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She received her undergraduate degree from Baylor University and a Master of Science from Thomas Jefferson University. She is certified in Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Ecosystemic Structure Family Therapy.                      

Amanda has extensive experience training and experience at The Renfrew Centers,  major inpatient-outpatient eating disorder facilities, and other health services, where she provided individual,  couples, and family therapeutic therapy and clinical and intern supervision. She has led multi-family groups, parent support sessions, and patient alumnae events, provided crisis management, and developed and implemented treatment plans in coordination with patients’ complete health team, including dieticians, psychiatrists, PCPS, students’ schools, and workers’ employers. Amanda is a member of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professional Foundation (IADEP)

Crystal Carson

LPC, CAADC

Crystal Carson is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor of Science from Temple University. She earned her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Holy Family University. Crystal is also a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC).

Crystal utilizes a variety of treatment approaches, including Person-Centered, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and Mindfulness, to address and to heal her clients’ stressful and traumatic experiences. She is well experienced in promoting healthy relationships and engaging people creatively through flexible individually tailored treatment protocols.

She works passionately to treat adolescents, young adults, adults, and families to treat eating and weight disorders.

Crystal brings her healthy balanced lifestyle to her professional life.
